Reuters reports that supermodel Gisele Bundchen is taking the on the Church in Brazil, notably the world's largest Roman Catholic country, over its stand on abortion and birth control. She provides the following comment:

Gisele wants people to avoid the itch, amongst other things
"It's ridiculous to ban contraceptives -- you only have to think of the diseases that are transmitted without them. I think it should be compulsory to use a contraceptive."
Though making contraceptives compulsory might not be the best idea, and may lead to a sharp decline in population, her push for contraception in Brazil does make sense. The country has the highest prevalence of aids in South America and accounts for 57% of all AIDs cases in Latin America. Of course, the other reason she gives is a little more interesting.
"Today no one is a virgin when they get married ... show me someone who's a virgin!"
