Online media receive dozens – hundreds, even – of emails, press releases and pitches a day. For those in the field of PR, it’s more of a challenge than ever to compete for that much-needed attention. So while my post title was a little misleading – this fantastically themed event is about how people in the public relations industry can successfully build relationships with fashion & beauty bloggers – there’s sure to be plenty of hints about what not to do along the way too.

We’ve been asked to contribute our insights as part of the panel, so I’ll be heading up to Sydney on Tuesday, October 26 to speak on behalf of Fashionising.com. Tickets are on sale now, so if you’re in Sydney I hope you’ll join us.

Fashion blogger PR meetup

Also joining me on the panel are Sarah Macrae, Helen Lee, and Elise Phillips.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
