With Melbourne fashion week almost upon us it’s time to start pencilling in dates for your diary. The first thing we have for you to consider: Manstyling, a panel / talk that’ll feature Fashionising.com’s editor-in-chief amongst others.

Our panel of fashion experts discusses some of the time-honoured rules of ManStyle and how they work in fashion today. Why do we still think a suit makes the man? How does the fashion cycle work for men’s clothes? From who, where and what are the latest trends coming and what forms of media are influencing us most?

Presented in conjunction with the National Gallery of Victoria, Manstyling will be presented by, “Daniel P Dykes, editor-in-chief and chairman Fashionising.com; a representative from Harrolds luxury department store; and Richard Nylon, milliner and fashionable man.”

Pencil it in your diary for Thursday, 8 September between 5.45pm and 6.45pm. It’ll be held at Melbourne’s City Square on Swanston Street.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
