People in fashion, rarely satisfied right? You’ve got Karl Lagerfeld, holding the fort at Karl Lagerfeld, Fendi and Chanel; then there’s the house of Louis Vuitton who have done everything from furs to fragrances, and even dabbled in interiors; and even basics brand H&M, who’ve collaborated with the likes of Lanvin, Jimmy Choo, Sonia Reikel and soon-to-be, Versace.

Consider Carine Roitfeld the latest addition to the list of do-alls.

Those of you who have been struggling with severe withdrawal symptoms since her departure from French Vogue back in February can finally ease off the meds, for she’s back with a new project with an old pal. Now, if I could have anyone on speed dial, Mario Testino would definitely make the cut for one of my top 9. Teaming up with the stylish snapper, the pair will style the entire edition of September’s V magazine. As noted by the Wintour documentary, The September Issue, it is said month’s edition that is notoriously the biggest, fattest and fullest issue of the year. Showcasing the new season’s trends and all things upcoming, it makes for major mayhem.

At a youthful – dare I say it – 56, Roitfeld remains on top of her fash-game. WWD has given us only tit-bits of information on the release, though as yet, we know to expect a 72 page fash-a-thon, devoted to the late Elizabeth Taylor.

A style icon, a muse and a Hollywood legend, Taylor was admired worldwide. With a penchant for elegance and an indulgence for diamonds, the 8-times married starlet was used to being the centre of attention. Taking pride of place as the main inspiration for V’s ‘heroes’ themed issue, we’re expecting drama, glamour and a whole lot of luxury.

Whilst its gone unstated whether Roitfeld has managed to get her hands on any of Elizabeth’s iconic jewels for the shoot, we imagine if anyone could, it would be the fashion force of Roitfeld and Testino: a duo who work wonders.
