From September 14-16, the Australian Shoe Fair will be on in Melbourne once again – proving itself to be the buying fair for the footwear industry. At the fair will be big name international and Australian shoe labels, as well as new and emerging talent. We’ve already got our eye on the shoe trends that will be spotted at the fair.

These two pairs from Windsor Smith are right on the money – bold, buckled and darn fierce, with a high, tapering heel. Reptile leathers were high up in our list of shoe trends for A/W08-09, while gladiator sandals and heels continue as the hottest trend for summer.

Also look out for flat jazz shoes, lace-up heels, and ankle boots – other trends sure to be well represented at the fair.

The Australian Shoe Fair will run in parallel with Fashion Exposed & Preview for the first time this year – so be sure to register now as there will be more to see at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre than you can imagine, and you’ll need the full three days to get through it all!

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
