Let’s face it, most fashion competitions that implore you to upload a photo of yourself for one reason or another are generally predictable affairs, thinly-veiled attempts to boost social media presence. But Woolmark’s Fashion by Feelings promo is a cut above. With an adorably designed website (where a sheep called Karl Lamberfield gently chastises you if you don’t fill in your details correctly) and a seriously decent grand prize, this is a street style contest that’s worth entering.
Part of the We Love Wool campaign, Fashion by Feelings invites users to upload a photo of themselves in an outfit that could be described using one of twelve ‘feelings’ like happy, nostalgic or cute. Obviously, the outfit has to feature wool in some way, but just grabbing a shot of your favourite winter scarf isn’t going to cut it – there’s a pretty high calibre of entrants so far. Running until the end of September, whoever gets the most ‘love’ votes in total will win the grand prize of return flights to Sydney for two people, six nights accommodation, a wool shopping spree worth AUD $3,600, a pair of EMU boots each and a visit to a Merino wool farm. Even if you don’t want to post a look yourself, all voters will be entered into a weekly draw to win a wool prize pack from EMU Australia worth AUD $400.
