Such was his talent that, despite his untimely passing, the legacy of designer Lee Alexander McQueen continues to both live on and be felt. While much attention continues to be paid to the Alexander McQueen label now produced under the creative directorship of Sarah Burton, far less is heard about the younger McQ line. All that is set to change in 2012, however.

As of next year, McQ will not only have its first standalone shop, it will also host its first catwalk at London fashion week.

The McQ flagship store will be located on London‘s Dover Street – situated in the heart of the city’s West End where edgy boutiques Dover Street Market, Acne and APC will be neighbours – in a smart Georgian townhouse stocking womenswear, menswear and accessories.

[McQ] has also confirmed that it will stage its first ever catwalk show during London Fashion Week in February. The presentation of the autumn/winter 2012 collection will act as a preview to the store opening, which is due to open next spring.

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
