Erin Heatherton has confirmed something we all kinda know but don’t quite allow ourselves to believe: even supermodels struggle with insecurities.
In a bold instagram post, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel has spoken out about her feeling of being a “failure” and her struggles with body image and the constant quest for perfection. “I was struggling with my body image and the pressures to fulfill the demands of perfectionism upon me,” she wrote. “I am not perfect. Through this struggle, however, I found the strength to love myself.”
Heatherton says she’s going to channel her energies into a more important cause: helping other women overcome their own insecurities. She pledges to “create a channel for women to become the truest versions of themselves, along with me.”

In a second Instagram post, Heatherton quotes social entrepreneur and philanthropist Renata M. Black, founder of the Seven Bar Foundation, alongside a photo of the two wearing “Empowered by…” t-shirts – hinting that Heatherton and Black will be working together on a future initiative to empower women.
All we can say is, go girl.
