What avenues are there for new fashion media (by Fashionising.com’s definition, those fashion titles that recognise the change in the way people consume media, be it in print or digital) to generate revenue? Conde Nast, the publisher of Vogue and a company that feels to be operating firmly in the realm of old media, turned to iPad editions of their magazine, though that hasn’t gone so well with sales figure reportedly very disappointing for the company. Jacques magazine, a favourite of ours and a title known for being willing to do things different, has different ideas and has revealed that they are publishing a calendar in 2012.

With the same guiding philosophy of the magazine, the creators of Jacques present the Jacques 2012 calendar. Artistically captured nudes grace this tantalizing pinup calendar, which will be equally at home in a garage workspace or design studio, barber shop, cafe, tool shed, art collection, barroom wall, high-end boutique, or anywhere else discerning adults are seeking to allow a little bit of beauty into their lives. This calendar showcases some of the most alluring natural women this world over, with a new heart-stopping model each month. The girl next door is only a day away – take a look and maybe this year will be yours.

To be certain Jacques isn’t a strict fashion title, but with the constant blur of fashion and nudity as one of fashion’s end points, Jacques has become something of a high-brow title appreciated, and perhaps even envied, by many in the industry.

The 2012 Jacques magazine calendar is available from Amazon for US$16.47, though it will retail for $24.95. It shall be released on 26 July, 2011.

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
