What happens when you enlist top plus-size models Ashley Graham, Precious Lee, Tara Lynn, Denise Bidot and Georgia Pratt in a lingerie commercial that celebrates the female body?

It gets rejected by T.V.

A video campaign by plus-size retailer Lane Bryant was reportedly rejected by NBC and ABC for not complying with advertising regulations. And yet, one could argue that the models are no more naked or exposed than we’re regularly used to seeing in ads. Do you think it’s a case of double-standards?

In a statement to website Racked, Lane Bryant described the commercial as “a true celebration of women of all sizes doing what makes THEM feel beautiful whether its breastfeeding their newborn, flaunting their bodies the way they see fit, breaking down barriers all around and simply being who they are or want to be!”

NBC have stated that the ad was not rejected outright but requested to be edited for minor changes – however, Lane Bryant have refused to change the commercial, instead opting to run it as-is on their social media channels and This Body website.
