The top 10 highest paid models of 2012

You might have a personal favourite model, but Forbes have a more concrete measure of success. As they regularly do, they’ve released the list of the world’s highest paid models. So who makes the cut?

The top 10:

  1. Gisele Bündchen @ IMG (age 31)
    $45 million
  2. Kate Moss @ IMG (age 38)
    $9.2 million
  3. Natalia Vodianova @ DNA (age 30)
    $8.6 million
  4. Adriana Lima @ Marilyn (age 31)
    $7.3 million
  5. Doutzen Kroes @ DNA (age 27)
    $6.9 million
  6. Alessandra Ambrosio @ DNA (age 31)
    $6.6 million
  7. Miranda Kerr @ IMG (age 29)
    $4 million
  8. Lara Stone @ IMG (age 28)
    $3.8 million
  9. Carolyn Murphy @ IMG (age 38)
    $3.5 million
  10. Candice Swanepoel @ IMG (age 23)
    $3.1 million

It’s always worth noting that it’s all about staying power when it comes to financial success as a model. Even the hottest of the hot models-of-the-moment walking every runway and appearing in every magazine rarely make the list. Instead it’s the ones who collect endorsement deals and campaigns and build long-term relationships that work their way into the top ten.

Candice Swanepoel is the youngest this time at 23. And, as has become somewhat customary, it’s the Victoria’s Secret contract girls (or ex-Angels in some cases) that dominate. Seems what VS touch really does turn to gold.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
