That Topshop will be in Australia before the year is out is no secret to fashionisers, with the first Melbourne Topshop due to open in early December and a Sydney store set for 2012. That’s the majority of shoppers in the east of Australia covered. What of their western cousins, however?

It’s looking like a 2012 opening is on the cards.

The West Australian is today reporting that

Topshop is understood to be looking for space in Perth to open a second store while it waits for its Sydney site to become available.

According to the paper that would see Topshop open its Perth store ahead of both its own Sydney store and competitor Zara’s Perth store.

[Zara] is yet to settle on a site in Perth and is unlikely to open its doors until late 2012 or early 2013.

“They won’t compromise on location,” one source said. “They’re in no hurry.”

[Zara] is understood to be keen to snatch ground-floor space along Murray Street, where existing tenants include Swarovski, Pandora and David Jones. Zara’s outlets in Sydney and Melbourne are next to David Jones department stores.

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
