James Bond to wear Tom Ford clothes in QoS

As we tipped earlier in the year when it comes to fashion, James Bond has the very best.

Designer Tom Ford has settled rumours about his involvement with the upcoming James Bond film Quantum of Solace, confirming in an interview with the LA Times that when Bond next steps out he'll be wearing suits, shirts, ties, and knitwear from the designer's fashion house.

Economic downturn changes the look of 2009-2010?

Open any newspaper and you'll quickly read of the doom and gloom of the global credit crunch. Much like the economic downturn of the 80s and 90s, will this current 'crisis' have an effect on future fashion collections? How about fashionisers' fashion tastes?

In their fashion trend report for 2009 fashion trends and 2010 fashion trends, Stahl doesn't claim to have the answer, but they're certainly noticing the shift.

After several seasons of over-abundance, eccentricity and the triumph of artificial over the natural, there is a strong desire to return to a state of equilibrium. Is this a reflection of the current world economic climate? Has this resulted in a wish for fashion to take things steady rather than go overboard? Or is it simply a question of pausing for thought while we mix technical and traditional once more?

Fashion Legend Yves Saint Laurent Passes Away

A talent the of the calibre of Yves Saint Laurent is born maybe once in a genaration, ask even those who profess ignorance of fashion and amongst the labels they will be able to name are Dior, Gucci & YSL. Having headed up the first at the incredibly young age of twenty one, being bought out by the second in 1999 and retired from the third in 2002 he sits amongst the greatest designers of the 20th Century.

Saint Laurent made his first splash on the fashion scene aged seventeen, when he won first prize in a competition sponsored by the International Wool Secretariat for a cocktail dress which he designed.

A year later he was studying at the Chambre Syndicale School of Hate Couture. He was however only there for three months before being plucked up by another fashion legend Christion Dior who had been so impressed by the incredible talent exhibited by Saint Laurent that he hired him on the spot.
