Ted Baker's concept store: fashion's future

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 18.04.08

While we write so much about the clothing side of fashion trends in 2008 few of the periphery trends are ever analysed. But as if straight out of Tobe's 2008 trends report comes news that Ted Baker is living up to the year's most important trend: Fusion Fashion Stores.

Pay attention retailers: this is the future of fashion.

Nine West / Marie Claire Step-up Breakfast

Written by Tania Braukamper on 13.04.08

Something quite miraculous happened on Friday: I managed to drag myself out of bed early and get to the Nine West / Marie Claire Melbourne Step-up Breakfast on time. Allan and I listened to career advice and saw work outfits, chosen by Marie Claire's fashion editor, that utilised Nine West's range of shoes.

Ironically, I couldn't see much of the shoes from where I was sitting... but I did discover that Nine West actually produce a rather cute range of coats that's worth checking out. Allan snapped some shots of the models and hair & make-up crew backstage - you can view the full set of photos here.

Zac Posen: for Target and on target

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 07.04.08

Zac Posen in AustraliaThe first things that strike you about Zac Posen are three distinct qualities - he is both charming and cultured, everything that you might expect from similarly elegant designers such as Tom Ford. The third thing you'll note is just how young Zac is; fashion is an industry, after all, where the majority of heavy weights are nearing retirement.

Zac Posen. Cultured. Personable. Articulate. Young.

Tom Ford to dress James Bond?

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 27.03.08

Who will be dressing Daniel Craig's James Bond when he steps out for the second time in the forthcoming Quantum of Solace? As one of the most influential cinematic wardrobes, the issue of who has got the gig is one of the most topical issues in the fashion industry right now. What's clear is that Brioni has been dropped. What's not clear is who will replace them. First we were lead to believe it was Dunhill, but now it seems Tom Ford may be Bond's man.
