Maybe it’s a deliberate grab for attention via the thorny path of controversy. Maybe it’s a genuine attempt to call attention to an issue relevant to a generation of young readers.
Or maybe Interview Magazine are just glamorising binge drinking (intentionally or not) in such a way that young girls are going to look at this shoot and think, drinking until I pass out must be the fashionable thing to do.
Unsurprisingly the shoot has already inflamed controversy. Regardless of what Interview’s intention is and how they can justify it, magazines have ultimate responsibility over their content – for unintended consequences if nothing else. What do you think: playful satire or irresponsible glamorising of dangerous party behaviour? Comment on our Facebook wall.
The shoot, starring Anja Rubik, Edita Vilkeviciute, Daria Strokous, Andreea Diaconu and Lily Donaldson, was photographed by Fabien Baron and appears in full in Interview’s November 2014 issue.
