jean commented on Kristen McMenamy: Vogue Italia August 2010
When I first saw these pictures I was irritated. How could Meisel have glorified the tragic oil spill I thought to myself. Then I understood what Kristen was saying.I realised Meisel wanted to wake up our senses to the tragedy.Fashion's their job so they were channeling their message through it.They took me out of my lucky & cocooned world for a minute.JMO of course.Anyway Bravo to Meisel & Kristen.

Hi Allan!
Didn't want to say it public but the August Elle cover with Erin Wasson is not French but Italian.
Cheers Allan & have a nice weekend.

Hi Chester!
Zara's Aussie flagship store will be in Sydney at Bondi Junction(wherever that is & sounds like a trailer park LOL).Guess you'll have to make weekend trips to Sydney until Zara spreads across the country.
It'll also be a lot cheaper for my sister in Perth who goes to Singapore sometimes for her Zara fix :O! Ciao!

Just the right amount of accessories Tania and twas clever of you to forgo a belt that would have taken attention away from the interesting gapped stitching of the perfectly cut shirt. The Bordeaux sockettes somehow pulled the whole look together.Flawless.

Vintage shops outside Paris?...Hmmm if you mean designer vintage shops then they are all mainlybased in Paris & major cities like Cannes and even Marseilles.Ordinary vintage shops called Frip here sell mostly 60s/70s clothes, endless faded Leviss or odd but beautiful hand made pieces.Designer vintage clothes have all been snapped up by a few Parisien boutiques specialising in vintage clothes that sell for thousands of euros or are put up in important auctions.

Agree with you about PFW milking any publicity that came its way Taliban or not.Why not milk it indeed.Any press is better than no press.Talibans' mistresses were probably in audience & among buyers anyway.Stranger things have happened!

Yes are'nt the United Nude shoes just effing amazing!Beyond the quality of finish & discrete detail there's something so modern and architectural about the approach to the design. They are so unique I can understand you'd want them just as ornamental decoration.Or even as chic bookends LOL!
Take care Bukhi!

I love this editorial. Not really because of its denim dominance but because it reminds me of eds in my mother's old fashion magazines from the 70s.Especially English mags like Honey,19,Mirabelle,Nova & Vogue of course.I love going thru them sometimes when I'm at the old family house.

I love the Thirties!A period I wished I lived in.Its a lovely cover Tania!
jean commented on Kate Moss covers Vogue Paris
I've lost count the number of times Kate's been on the cover of French Vogue but I like this one eventhough I'm a bit tired of the continuing Marilyn Monroe reference.Au natural and outdoor shoots can be tricky for an aging model but not for Kate. The woman is still Out There!
I haven't got my hands on it yet but I think its French Vogue's swimsuit issue peut etre.

Hi Daniél
:)Tis indeed a pic of my babygirl as a puppy taken last summer.A bichonne frisée named Douce(pronounced 'doose' and means Soft in French or Softy if you like.)
Saw Aussie Lydia Lasilla's gold winning aerial jump at Olympics & it took my breath away!LOL!
