It looks like Melvin Sokolsky’s girl in the bubble is haunting me. She first served Fashionising.com as vintage inspiration, and we then discovered the entire photo shoot dating from 1963. Her latest incarnation is part of the 2010 Kips Bay Decorator Show House where she forms the central feature of one of the ‘bubble rooms’.

The bubble room in concern has been designed by Etienne Coffinier and Ed Ku of Coffinier Ku Design; they say that it was the vintage Harper’s Bazaar print at served as the major inspiration for the floor interior layout.
