I'm a big fan of hats, even though I barely get around to actually wearing them. There are tons of different options when it comes to hats, and we've seen everything from furry Cossack hats to turbans to berets on the runways in recent seasons. The music scene has also been influencing hat trends. What's hot and what's not right now?
What to wear?
Classic is best when it comes to hats right now. For both girls and guys the best styles to wear are (clockwise as shown below) the fedora, trilby, pork pie, derby / bowler, beret and panama. Chunky knit beanies have also been on the runways a lot of late - sure to keep you toasty in winter - or if you're not into beanies and prefer something more classic, go for a knit beret instead.

What not to wear?
Steer clear of the bucket hat, cowboy, trucker cap and army cap. Enough said.

Hat styles
Confused about your hat types? A derby is another name for a bowler. You'll know a fedora if it's got a crease down the middle and is pinched in at both sides at the front. The pork pie hat is usually made from felt or sometimes straw, and is similar to a fedora only it has a flat round top; the trilby is also similar to the fedora, only has a more narrow brim.

There aren't too many alpha-females out there and, though she might deny it, Tania certainly exudes their qualities. A keen eye, a focused approach, and a wardrobe spanning three rooms have made her one of the savviest of dressers. But it's not all couture for Tania, earning her fashionista credentials she'll frequently be seen on the town in a one-off, vintage dress and a pair of Gucci heels. She says: Vintage will never go out of style We say: Does that include vintage 80s?
