For Mark Badgley and James Mischka, the pre-autumn / fall 2014 collection is imagined to mark the glamour and the sophistication accompanying the debut of the festive season. Rome’s grandeur, its golden hues and superb architecture were translated to rich baroque textures and arresting embellishments meant to match the fall’s take on fabulous parties, fantastic cocktail hours and soirees.
Long and lean silhouettes stood for simplicity, while around the shoulder and the neck lines is where Badgley Mischka placed all the magic inspiration gathered from Rome. Crystals and gold sequins, golden brooches and other jeweled adornments called to mind the opulence of the Italian museums and palazzos, in a collection perfecting the always fascinating contrast between heavy and light.
