The unapologetic glamour, the sensual flow and the bold dashes of color, everything one would expect to come out of a collection signed by Carlos Miele, transformed the fall / winter 2013 into a season that appears as best spent right under the spotlights, in pursuit of unforgettable moments that just scream for an equally remarkable array of garments. Heavily focused on evening-wear, the Brazilian designer resorted to little bits of his architectural curiosity in order to infuse the silhouettes with a distinct structure, playing with ease upon intricate cuts and strategic draping.
The collection opened up strong, with a selection of ruby red gowns and dresses, keen on unlocking femininity and evoking the grand power of seduction. From there, black and white geometric patterns began adorning the more clean silhouettes, crossing roads with rich golds and electric blues, all topped by Miele’s signature micro-pleats and ruching. It was a game of subtlety versus luxury who dominated the line up, with the silk floor-sweeping gowns being perfectly balanced by the quietly sophisticated cocktail dresses.
