Although more and more designers strive to infuse their collections with an equilibrium between tension and release, few manage to combine the curves and the straight lines in such perfect ways that end up gifting the garments with delicate movement and a personality of their own. Paris-based fashion designer Christine Phung’s fall / winter 2013 line-up evokes that uplifting modern sensibility.
Playing with ease upon shapes and structure, the “Round Fields” collection brims with silhouettes that test the limits of uniformity, as inspired by a traveler immersed in a mid-flight daydream. Profound and forward-thinking, Phung’s aesthetic leaves nothing to chance, but instead awakens the imagination with its use of geometric patterns, layered textures and confident color palette.
The employment of rich cashmere and silks, add to the intricacy of the fall / winter staples by amplifying their luxurious character and unique feel.
