When the alluring thought of a hot and sunny Los Angeles summer comes to mind in plain cold winter, closing our eyes and dreaming away as to escape the dulness of the dark weather seems like the only sane alternative. The image of the blue water meeting the clear skies, the palm trees reaching for the sun and the busy beaches bursting with life, help build a refreshing scenario, more so if the Cali fantasy is complemented by a smart and liberating choice of swimwear. And for the past couple of season Minimale Animale was the brand in charge of delivering sexy minimalism straight to the beach.
Cassandra Kellogg, the mind behind the daring concept set to evoke versatility in swimwear, all by making use of a muted color palette and simplistic cuts, envisioned yet another ultra-sexy collection for the spring and summer of 2013. Defined by a raw grittiness, the white mesh one-piece swimsuit covered in all the right places, the black two-in-one bikini piece or the mesh-paneled surf suit coated in the most delicious oceanic blue shade are just a few of the recurring designs updated for another cool take on a never-ending summer.
Shoot by photographer extraordinaire Jason Lee Parry, whose images are known to posses the ability to capture “the natural, raw beauty”, the Minimale Animale look book benefited from the unaltered styling vision of both designer Cassandra Kellogg and art director Meagan Judkins, with hair and make-up by Karina Moore.
