Robert Rodriguez S/S ’14 look book

In an industry so keen on preserving the heritage, you don’t stumble upon many designers that are ready to revamp their aesthetic once their collections mark a glorious 10th anniversary. Robert Rodriguez instead saw this as an opportunity to add more edge and extra sophistication to his signature athletic elements, redefining the modern sex-appeal with an array of super-sleek silhouettes.

For spring / summer 2014 Robert Rodriguez took on New York fashion week (NYFW) with a brand new attitude. A black and white color palette stood for a new beginning, subtly incorporating delicate hints of powder blue and cream. A play on proportion and architectural shapes, complemented the crafted embellishments building the “African Tribes to Futuristic Warriors” theme.

Where the decorative sequins ceased to shine, the perfectly tailored pieces embracing minimal lines were able to really stand out. Cut in bonded fabric, the new silhouettes talked about the relaxed, yet extremely refined vision setting the path for the upcoming season.
