Living in Mumbai but launching a brand in the enticing city of London has definitely put an imprint on Saloni Lodha’s outright aesthetic. Making the most out of both the cultural influences, Saloni’s most recent look book for autumn / winter 2013 puts a new spin on the clean, minimalist silhouette. But despite Saloni’s straightforward approach, the collection also accents the bold surface embellishments and eye-catching prints.
If the lines are being kept clean thus relevant, it’s in the thoughtful details such as the use of color-blocked Indian cord work on a sleek organza dress, or the unique take on the iconic camouflage print where the true innovation and powerful vision lies. Versatile, functional and modern the line-up is imagined as a pluralism of styles and silhouettes, covering everything in between jersey skirts, shirt dresses, jumpsuits and coats.
Styled with playful beanies, mid-calf socks, black leather gloves and classic turtle necks, the collection gained even more of a refreshing feel. Choosing a dark color palette, Saloni designed a modern and cohesive display that’s definitely headed towards an interesting direction.
