The fashion world is in constant need of fresh perspectives and newly paved directions, particularly so when it comes to the womenswear segment. By choosing to focus on feminine shapes, channel the modern minimalism and make use of hi-technologies, Ukrainian designer Yasya Minochkina found a way to express her unique voice, emerging as a brand that is currently embracing international recognition.
Yasya Minochkina’s fall / winter 2013 collection evokes the decadence of the 1930s, just as it collides with both 70s glamour and high sensuality. But with all the inspiration coming from a past that goes as far as the 18th century, the collection manages to retain a modern quality, reinforced by what is a sophisticated palette of colours and a delightful play on texture.
The finest of silk, velvet and textured wool serve as foundation for the ultra-classic garments, amongst which we find jumpsuits subtly hinting towards sleepwear, floor-sweeping gowns looking splendid without artifice, and plenty of pieces that fuse a taste of sportswear with the brand’s timeless elegance.
