With a striking black versus white undertone, set against an immaculate backdrop, Zuhair Murad’s binary fall / winter 2013 presentation unveiled a theme that once again explored the fashion extremes in quite an effortless manner. Envisioned for a woman with a double personality, the half demon – half angel subtext allowed Murad to translate the Gothic Renaissance statement into a collection exuding of high glamour and dark romance.
Built upon a myriad of flower motifs, Murad’s line up put a strong emphasis on exquisite sequined appliques and flower patterns that served their purpose into making a subtle connection between the two opposite identities, perfectly mirrored throughout the collection by the black leather and white guipure lace clash. Slim silhouettes, either ultra-short or floor-length, accented by black sheer polka dot tulle panels, high necks and long sleeves, suggested an elevated sense of glamour, one that will look breathtaking once it will hit the red carpet, a scene that best reflects their natural context.
