Hello. My name is Ila. I am a born and raised California girl. I am a freelance make-up artist for MAC Cosmetics. I went to The Makeup Institute in San Francisco, and I also attended the Paul Mitchell Partner School, San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology, where I trained to become a licensed esthetician. (I also have my massage license). I share a company, Cafe Beauty, Las Vegas, with one of my best friends where I am a make-up artist, stylist and eyelash extensionist. I am very creative and studied fine art for a short period at the Academy of Art University. I enjoy painting, drawing and working with wild colors and crazy looks.

My Style

I am kind of funky. I definitely have a lot to learn in the world of fashion which is why I am here. I wear a lot of black and I love to try out different looks all the time. I don't have one specific look. I love to experiment!

cooking is the art of taste.
sculpture is the art of depth (which creates three dimensional objects).
body building is the art of the human form: (to enhance or not to enhance),
painting incorporates color and a medium to produce three dimensional effects on a two dimensional surface,
drawing: same idea, with or without color
so, fashion, the runway::: drumroll please..............................................

the art of sculpture on the human frame::: most amazing::: IN MOTION,
that's right. it's kinesthetic sculpture.
so now we understand why fashion is BIG in the art world
ALOT comes into play for a big time designer

when you combine the runway with fashion, you incorporate:

1. body building (to an extent, TONING and the fact that most models are thin show THE HUMAN FORM),

2. painting: MAKE-UP

3. sculpture with a moving medium: hair : CUT AND COLOR

4. sculpture of a range of mediums : FABRIC, the way it hangs, the texture, color, print, etc.

when the runway is an art form, it's like a complex cooking recipe for a five-course, five-star meal at an amazing restraunt. these designers incorporate all of these art forms and then some, a secret ingredient.

what is my take on trends??? like feathers for example...

if its creative AND it works: i love it!

Something You Should Know

I am very unique in that I lived attached to a life support device for a year and three months until I received a heart transplant in 2005. Interests

I love to make people feel great about themselves. The best part of make-up is when your client looks in the mirror, smiles and says, "Oh my gosh! I look so beautiful!" It feels fabulous to help build self-esteem and confidence. I love to workout, play with my dog, Maxine. I love to learn new things and hope to pursue a career in radiation therapy someday as well as turn my business into a thriving company.

I will have to say that I don't get irritated very easily; Although, I can say for sure it is difficult for me to see someone who is completely healthy wasting their lives (day in and day out) with drugs and alchohol.
