At times looking like an interpretation of post-apocalyptic fashion and at others a revivalist take on a look Shackleton might have taken to South Pole, 3.1 Phillip Lim men’s Autumn (Fall) / Winter 2010 collection sits amongst my favourites for the forthcoming season. Lim cited urban adventure as his inspiration, “Fall 2010 is all about bringing the wild into the city, and how adventurous the city itself really is. We go on adventures in the city every day.” With his reinterpretation of Sam Browne belts and use of shearling, it strikes me as an urban adventure takes more than a little bit of inspiration from the 20th century influences of the men’s 2010 military fashion trend.

I like the whole collection... little bit last second... but it still counts!

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
