A darkened sexuality

We’ve long been fans of the work of photographer Nicolas Guerin. His are photos shoots that are rich in detail. Photo shoots that evoke. Photo shoots that draw you in and let your mind wander.

Following on from our feature on his rock-edged Into The Wild pictorial, we’ve now secured Fashionising.com readers a look at Guerin’s work for the 5th issue of Glint magazine – Amour du noir.

Where the last of Guerin’s work that we featured offered up detail through setting, this latest photo shoot offers it up through layers of clothes and adornment. Where the sexuality of his last work revolved around the ever-present threesome chic, it is left solely to model Alazne this time.

But for such differences, Nicolas Guerin‘s Amour du noir offers up the quality that we really love about his work we’ve been privy to: an unabashed celebration of youth, be it the body of youth or its pleasures, perfectly captured.

He was 5 when his teacher wrote on his report card “Daniel can’t sit still.” Taking it as a compliment, he’s been on the go ever since. Having flown over 590,000 kilometres in a single year (2012), he’s done much to push the boundaries of a fashioniser, always looking to fold one extra Tom Ford suit into his set of Samsonite cases and for one extra occasion to tie a tie for. As much an editor-at-large as he is Fashionising.com’s Editor-in-chief, when he's not travelling to all the fashion weeks his passports will allow him to, Daniel works on guiding this publication’s editorial and trend views. He is one of Fashionising.com’s co-founders.
