Were it not for the cars in the background to date it against, this photo could be from another era. Julia Stegner‘s outfit is somewhere between the sweet ‘60s and hippie ‘70s, from the oversized sunglasses and floppy hat to the casual leather sandals. And it all comes down to the polish: there’s not a hair out of place, not an accessory that’s too much – if off-duty vintage starlet was Julia’s goal then she nailed it.

The photo was shot by Altamira, who explains that “the dress is the same dress her mom wore the day she met her husband.”

We all love a piece of clothing that has a story.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
