Beauty does lie in the eye of the beholder, but sometimes you find things that are universally stunning and there are no two ways about it. Not the setting, neither the make-up but it’s the clothes that tell a story in this AnOther magazine editorial featuring Melbourne-based model Ajak Deng.
When big names like Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, YSL, Balmain and Louis Vuitton swamp the pages of a fashion spread, the status instantly hikes to the next level of luxury. Exquisite styling by Cathy Edwards, the eclectic mix of metallic, leather, sheer silks and knits stand out against Deng’s richly pigmented skin. The geometrics of each piece are enunciated with the sculptural headpieces: rope turban, foam hat and knotted tie-ups.
