A token of his unmistakable genius, Alexander McQueen's final collection made its debut at Paris Fashion Week. Each of the 16 pieces are breathtaking: ornately detailed and sublimely majestic, inspired by art and classical paintings. Gilt feathers breaking out into a voluminous tulle skirt. Dresses paired with black leather thigh-high boots; buckled, with the most baroquely elaborate gold soles. Heavily embroidered coats and gowns in stunning patterns.
With a level of detail beyond what most are capable of even imagining, these pieces are a sombre yet beautiful reminder of what McQueen was capable of, and of what will be missed by so many.
