All that glitters

There’s a saying that goes a little like this: All that glitters isn’t gold. Whether or not you agree, one thing is for sure; some things stay Gold forever!

Take this shoot in November’s Issue of Vogue Italia; styled regally by Fabio Messana and Rossana Mazza we see beautifully constructed pieces spilling out of the jewellery pages. The third stylist on this shoot must’ve been King Midas himself; Indian-esque chains and head-pieces taking us back to the Mughal Empire in India. A twist of themes with strong and influential make-up; a semi vampish look with dark lips reminds us of the lip-colour trend this year. Hues of berry, red wine and raspberry were seen on the catwalks for fall 2011. A vintage edge with Victorian rolls flawlessly finished by hair stylist Gabriella Trezzi tops off this shoot and puts it in the running for one of the best Jewellery editorials seen this year.

Pieces such as these are associated with evening glamour, elegance and royalty. Ksenia Malanova has a chic look about her that would make her an object of envy if you were to ever pass her in the street. Paired with the talent that is Photographer Oskar Cecere, together they make this enigmatic jewellery spread.

A fashion magpie born and raised in London, Sabi Datoo studied English and Drama and now works in the wonderful world of fashion. Lusting over anything from interiors to jewellery as long as it's unique, when you don't find her infront of a keyboard plying her trade as a freelance fashion writer then it's likely you'll find her sitting at a sewing machine and dreaming of Carrie's fashion-Narnia wardrobe or in a kitchen trying her hand at Chanel inspired cupcakes. With a personal wardrobe that drips with colour and glitter, Sabi hopes to wake up and be Holly Golightly for the day. Every day.
