An audience with McQueen during PFW

Written by Daniel P Dykes

An Alexander McQueen catwalk is always something to behold, and this year's Paris Fashion Week promises to be no different. While the a-listers will sit front row in Paris' 12th arrondissement, it is you dear fashionisers whom shall have the best view as the Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2010 collection is broadcast live on the Internet for your viewing pleasure.

Alexander McQueen Plato's Atlantis

"My shows have always been a big part of my work, what has taken me three months to develop is shown in just 15 minutes to a very small audience. I wanted to create a sense of inclusion for all those in the world who are interested in my work and the world of Fashion. This is just the first step towards revolutionising the 'show system' as we know it."

--Alexander McQueen

Hosting a fashion show is stressful enough, broadcasting it around the world is a completely different matter. As such, McQueen has turned to the creative talent Nick Knight's SHOWstudio to make it happen. Under Knight's direction, Showstudio.com will capture and broadcast the presentation of the collection in a moment that McQueen describes as "theatre at home."

"The audience at home is actually going to see more than the guests at the show. We're filming from a load of different angles, and two big cameras will actually be a part of the performance."

Mysteriously dubbed 'Plato's Atlantis', the live broadcast of Alexander McQueen's Spring/Summer 2010 collection will be accessible at http://alexandermcqueenlive.showstudio.com/ and shall commence at 20:15 Paris time (CEST) on 6 October 2009. That's GMT +2 hours for our British readers. You can calculate what time it shall be for you locally by visiting this France time converter.
