Anja Rubik down under

If I told you this shoot featuring Anja Rubik was commissioned by the Australian Tourism Board, you’d probably believe me. But, in fact, for all its Sydney beaches, views of the Opera House, and cuddly kangaroos, this is not a shoot promoting Australia. Nor is it even a shoot promoting an Australian brand. No, it’s the 2011 campaign of Polish jewellery label Apart, for whom Rubik acts as Ambassador. The Sydney locations are vibrant and beautiful, and Marcin Tyszka’s photography makes Anja look as if she’s on some exotic holiday. The only downside for Apart is that it’s easy to lose focus on the jewellery because everything else steals the show.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
