A photographer isn’t just a person with a camera; he or she is a multi-lingual person with a camera who understands poetry, fashion, architecture, science and algebraic mathematics.
Proving it in this shoot for Fashionising.com is photographer Svenja Pitz, who has a vision of a painter, a stage performer and an athlete. White Skies explores the natural lines of a human body when set against the man-made lines of a design-focussed building. The model’s never-ending legs serve as the biggest asset for the shots, especially in their clash with the slanting slope and horizontal shadows. The styling has been kept rather subdued and basic, keeping all distractions at bay with loose t-shirts, plain leotards and an oversized shirtdress.
If you have so much landscape to play with, why would you want to ruin its linear and directional beauty with billowing gowns, anyway?
If you’ve never seen a ballerina warm up before her big stage performance, or a swimmer take a dive into the pool, then consider this shoot as a glimpse of what you’re missing out on.
