When we hear that Benjamin Kanarek has been working hard to put together a new shoot, we know we’re in for a treat; and doubly so where the Haute Couture collections are involved. His work for Harper’s Bazaar China, which sees Marlena Szoka wrapped up in divine Spring 2011 couture outfits and shrouded in a soft mist, doesn’t disappoint.
When one imagines Haute Couture it’s often with an air of incredulity; a vision of artistic pieces that belong purely on a runway or in the pages of a magazine. But if Benjamin’s shoot shows one thing, its that the Haute Couture pieces from some of the industry’s best known names can also be perfectly wearable. The glamour of a plunging white Vauthier bodysuit paired with luxurious fur is a favourite, but also look out for Chanel’s gown of silver lattice, and the piece de resistance, a soft-as-marshmellow pink feathered piece by Dior.
