Blake Lively‘s fashion choices often pale in comparison to the daring outfits of her co-star Leighton Meester; but not so at the HBO Emmy Awards after-party, where Lively donned an uber-sexy Balmain ‘Paillette’ dress with plunging neckline and shoulder pads.

Lively paired the dress – which first hit the runway as part of Balmain’s Autumn(Fall)/Winter 2009 collection – with Jimmy Choo ‘Private’ heels (a nice simple choice which doesn’t detract from the head-turning dress) and some bold emerald statement jewellery.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
