Caroline Sieber dares – and wins

If who dares wins, then Caroline Sieber potentially took home first prize out of the front row crowd at Chanel’s fall 2011 Haute Couture show.

While transparent from head to toe the delicate floral motifs and neutral colours kept her full lace dress – which is from Chanel’s Paris-Byzance collection – well out of vampish territory. There’s what appears to be a very subtle nude bodysuit underneath, a perfect alternative to the usual look-at-me contrasting lingerie set option, and Sieber’s hair and makeup are pared back and au natural.

If you’ve always wanted to venture into fully sheer lace but haven’t had the confidence, it’s worth taking some cues from Sieber on how to keep it understated. This is a look that doesn’t have to be in-your-face sexy if worn right – even though it does take some daring.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
