If who dares wins, then Caroline Sieber potentially took home first prize out of the front row crowd at Chanel’s fall 2011 Haute Couture show.
While transparent from head to toe the delicate floral motifs and neutral colours kept her full lace dress – which is from Chanel’s Paris-Byzance collection – well out of vampish territory. There’s what appears to be a very subtle nude bodysuit underneath, a perfect alternative to the usual look-at-me contrasting lingerie set option, and Sieber’s hair and makeup are pared back and au natural.
If you’ve always wanted to venture into fully sheer lace but haven’t had the confidence, it’s worth taking some cues from Sieber on how to keep it understated. This is a look that doesn’t have to be in-your-face sexy if worn right – even though it does take some daring.
