Daisy Lowe: dressing for curves

Daisy Lowe isn’t waif-like, or indeed anything less than classically feminine in form; so watching her not only dress but dress for her figure is like a lesson with many take aways. Here she gets it oh so right, spotted outside Elie Saab’s fall 2011 couture show in a red dress that screams sex-bomb but with only the merest hint of skin. That hint is in the form of a high slit that balances out the otherwise full lengths of fabric. Meanwhile the gatherings and drapes on the centre of the dress pull in the waist and draw attention away from where its not wanted to where it most definitely is.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
