Many would say that diamonds are the ultimate in glamour. They’re like the physical representation of wealth and luxury. But true glamour doesn’t come from diamonds alone: you may have the most ostentatious accessories, the highest quality jewels, but all that means nothing unless you wear them well.

Right now that means wearing them with a little bit of attitude. As Numero’s November 2011 issue demonstrates that can go two ways: stripping it back to understated clothing and making the jewels the focus, or going all-out bling in an outfit of head to toe sparkle, the jewels almost lost amongst the unabashed display of edgy glamour.

It’s not all diamonds in Ben Hassett’s shoot, which stars Juju Ivanyuk. Against the dark lipstick and easy hairstyle, which both help to keep the diamonds away from feeling stuffy, you’ll also find gold pieces and chains.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
