Kemp Muhl has something I covet. And yes, you could insert any number of things here, it’s true – razor sharp hip bones, a cool name, the sort of lips I could only get following several injections and a fair whack to my credit card… But the thing most enviable is not all that, it’s her wardrobe. It rocks.

Flicking through a magazine recently (can’t remember which sorry) I came across pictures of Muhl giving a sort of tour of her wardrobe. As well as the seemingly endless supply of Sgt Pepper style military jackets courtesy boyfriend Sean Lennon, it just looked like a gold mine of treasures. So oddly, now, I do not want to see her in fashion editorials wearing styled designer outfits: it’s disappointing. Because the best bit – her cumulative wardrobe and sense of style – is hidden.

That rant over, I should digress and add that this shoot for Tokion is still great – featuring Muhl naked, Muhl in hot pants, and so on.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
