When it comes to layering for spring, it’s not cheating to have your layers in-built into a single piece; in fact, that’s part of the trend. Many a designer has ventured into pieces that include shorter layers under longer ones, opaque layers under sheer ones. A maxi-skirt cutaway to reveal a mini layer is the perfect example. This mint ASOS one spotted on Jess at Tuula is very much like a silk Acne version that’s hiding somewhere in my own wardrobe (though mine is blue). They’re day-to-night pieces that dress up, down, and everywhere in between as long as the weather is right.

Jess also makes a fine point about soft mint as a colour: being tall and blonde, pastel pinks and yellows can make you “look like a barbie”, so mint is her alternative of choice. Wise words from the leggy and stylish.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
