I love this time of year. We find ourselves somewhere in the middle of it all; the world’s south emerges from Winter and marches slowly towards Summer, the north moves on from the same Summer and moves reluctantly towards next year’s Winter, and both Christmas and the new year start to become ever more apparent on the horizon. Our fashion options are also somewhere in the middle of everything, giving us the best of both worlds. We can pick pieces from almost any season, confident that, for most fashionisers, the day will be neither too hot nor too cold. Hence a look like this, replete with thigh high socks, high-waisted denim shorts and a slouchy top, is suited to many a city. Provided your weather still sits somewhere in the middle of two distinct seasons, this is a look suited to both Summer-cum-Autumn and Winter-cum-Spring.

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
