It’s not often enough that a fashion shoot comes accompanied with a written story. This one for Vogue Italia does, though if I said I’d read it I’d surely be lying. When I can get my hands on it, I will.

The short story is by Mario Fortunato, while in Miles Aldridge’s shoot Jacquelyn Jablonski plays the titular Extravagant, Sophisticated Lady. Her boxy vintage car is overstuffed and messy, she has a cigarette dangling from her lips and a demeanour that at times contradicts her utterly glamorous styling. It seems she may even be living, rather glamourously, out of her car. Why? Well, I won’t know until I read the story.

Suffice to say that, story or none, the styling itself is breathtaking from the ’50s style party frocks to the striking eye makeup.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
