Fanning the child star flames: Marc by Marc Jacobs

You know that feeling of nostalgia we got when we saw Hailee Steinfeld’s campaign for Miu Miu – the reminiscence of being young but wishing we were grown ups, playing dress ups in clothes too sophisticated for our years? Here it is again.

Well here it is again, almost. Because 13 year old Elle Fanning actually does pull off these Marc by Marc Jacobs outfits with an unprecedented level of maturity. Youthful, yes, but childlike? No. About to be snowballed by an avalanche of other campaigns and shoots in the not too distant future? We expect so.

Seems the parallels between E.T and Super 8 aren’t just thematic; Elle Fanning has somehow inherited Drew Barrymore’s ability to appear sweetly innocent and adultly knowing at the same time.

Also starring Lowell Tautchin, the campaign is for the Marc by Marc Jacobs fall 2011 / 2012 campaign.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
