Fashion @ Fed Square is launching Fashion Schools Week next week, giving a host of emerging designers the opportunity to showcase their talents. Many of the events are free, and a great way to keep an eye out for Melbourne’s rising stars.

“From Monday 27th November – Thursday 30th November, 2006, ‘Fashion Schools Week’ is being held in the BMW Edge to nurture, support and display Melbourne’s student fashion designers.

Come and see Melbourne’s fashion schools showcasing their students’ end of year work in an exciting and central venue, and learn more about the courses being offered. With free exhibitions in the Atrium during the day, and different parades and forums in BMW Edge there is something for everyone.”

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
