Fetiche Noir: Ana Beatriz Barros

If you’ve ever found yourself face to face in conversation with Ana Beatriz Barros, you’ll be familiar with what a truly imposing figure she cuts. Especially when she’s in skin-tight pants and killer heels (and you, sadly, are not). If you wanted to indulge in the word ‘glamazon’ you’d be well forgiven; it’s hard to find another word that does the job.

She puts those elastic legs to work in a shoot for Elle Brazil that again works wonders at keeping the fetish fashion trend above water. It may not be a trend that we’ve seen much of on the street since bandage dresses and aggressive cutaway leather were the trend du jour back in 2009; but it’s evolved enough to keep the editorials coming. And why wouldn’t they, when you have an excuse to put models like Barros and Lara Stone in fetish gear?

Susana Barbosa’s styling here spans the obvious fetishist (thigh highs, bare tops, riding crops anyone?) to the supremely elegant in a white pleated dress with high slit.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
