Free People‘s latest look book is like faded pages of sheet music you’ve found at a jumble sale. The surprising thing is that, while music and fashion have long been bedfellows, this simple if almost cliche concept feels fresh. If there ever was a way to sell 70s bohemian pieces – even the kind Free People are well known for – then this is it, oozing a kind of spirit and sense of musical adventure that’s commercially put together and yet so alluring it’s hard to care.

With clothing credits stretching down pages next to clef symbols, Neil Young quotes and Jack White lookalikes, it’s less a catalogue of things you might want to buy and more a vision of where you know you want to be. If Free People’s brand is one you find affinity with, there’s little doubt this series of images will draw you in.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
