Glamour from the Gaultier archives

With dramatic makeup against Frida Gustavsson‘s porcelain skin and equally dramatic outfits from Jean Paul Gaultier’s archive, there was no need for decorative backdrops in this editorial for Stil Magazine. Instead, the utter starkness of the white background is the perfect compliment. Against it Frida can traverse the eras; moving from glamorous dress to glamorous dress, from echoes of the 1920s to the type of frocks more synonymous with the 1990s.

They may not be pieces you’ll find easily on the sale rack, but visually it’s a stunning shoot – both for David K. Shields’ photography and for the stunning Frida Gustavsson. You can view it in full by clicking on the thumbnails above.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
